2 steps forward, 3 steps back

During the last 24 hours my dad has had a bit of a set back. Although his vitals are stable, for the time being he is not responding to stimuli. For the last week, Rocky has been improving in his progress and passing milestones that are needed when a person is in a coma. Right now, though, he is need of major prayer. I know that his body is going through a huge state of shock and still has a lot of recovery to go through. This is very hard on my mom. Although, when she talks with the other families that are holding vigil in the waiting room for their loved ones, they are very encouraging. I think maybe Rocky may have over done it in the past week, and now he needs to be in God's arms taking a bit of a time-out to all the stimuli from the outside world. We are positive in his recovery and know that healing takes time. But, it's kind of a bummer when things don't go the way we want them to. God has a plan for Rocky, and although I would like an email stating what that plan is, I doubt I'll be seeing it in my inbox soon. For now, please continue to pray and again thank you for all the support. Every one of you mean something special to my family.

Tina I am so glad that you are doing this, it's hard getting 3rd hand information from my mom, who gets it from nathan, who gets it from your mom. We have been praying nonstop for Uncle Rocky. I pray for him whenever I have moments that I'm not doing anything, or when I'm driving. Aliyah knows to pray for him when we pray, and Me, Troy, Sarah and Michael did a fast for him last sunday. We'll keep it up!

Thank you so much for including Rocky's co-workers in this Blog. He has an enormous amount of support here at LACSD for his recovery. Receiving updates on his condition has been a life-line to all of us. Rocky is in my prayers, along with strength for his family to get through this tough time. I can't express enough what a wonderful, kind-hearted person Rocky has been to me. I have faith that miracles do happen and God is watching over him.
God bless you all, Kim Compton

A person is only as great as the people that they touch and influence. The entries in the blog, and the many more that will come, are a testiment to Rocky's greatness! Continued love and prayers to Rocky, his family, and ALL of us too!

Tina and Family:
It so hurts to hear what has happened to your dad. I worked with Mom and Dad (Bechtel) for many years and have never forgotten about them. Please let your mom know that our prayers are with her and your dad and we pray daily for a complete recovery.

Tina and family,

I worked with Rocky and Rocky was my supervisor. In the two and half years that I spent working side by side with him, I found him to be very special. He had a friendly personality that made him have many friends. He often would treat us to a pizza lunch and we would just sit, eat, talk and joke around enjoying his company. We knew that he cared about his family and love to ride his bike. It was nice to see him so happy that he was able to get his son a job and he felt proud to have Kevin working with him. Yes, Rocky was a special person and I will miss him… My thoughts are with you, Linda and the family…
